Vettikkavala Block Panchayat is one of the prominent rural local self-government institutions in Kollam District, Kerala. Comprising the Grama Panchayats of Vettikkavala, Mylom, Ummannoor, Melila, Pavithreswaram, Kulakkada, and Ezhukone, the Block Panchayat actively works towards improving the quality of life of its residents. Its major areas of focus include agricultural development, dairy farming, animal husbandry, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, women and child welfare, and rural infrastructure development.
Vettikkavala Block Panchayat has been actively involved in implementing various government initiatives such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), LIFE Mission housing projects, social security pension schemes, and the activities of Kudumbashree and Haritha Karma Sena.
